Valley View responds to the needs of the communities it serves. In 1987, the hospital unveiled it's kidney dialysis unit, the only hospital-based unit of its kind within a 10-county service area. Today, the unit features eight stations and serves up to 40 patients Monday through Saturday.
While some free-standing, for-profit dialysis centers may feature more room or more stations, Valley View focuses on the level of personal attention it provides to each individual. Patients are called by name, not by number.
Care, convenience and state-of-the-art technology make Valley View's Dialysis Unit a popular choice. In addition to patients' dialysis treatments, every person receives medical nutritional therapy as part of their treatment, not as a separate aspect of care. And unlike some other dialysis centers, amenities such as blankets and pillows are provided. Since the dialysis unit is housed inside the hospital, Valley View's gamut of services is readily available to tackle any medical emergency should one occur. The unit's Reverse Osmosis System purifies water at a greater rate and allows for expansion of services in the future.
